This week our dual town community of Westerly-Pawcatuck has the pleasure of hosting The Walldogs as they help create 16 murals depicting our local history.
This five day event will include a food stroll tonight, with the streets in downtown being closed to vehicle traffic. Local businesses, restaurants and bars will have their doors open and serving the public. There are numerous musical performances at various locations with The Cartells capping off the night. You will be able to nosh and stroll, checking out the artists as they bring the history of Westerly-Pawcatuck to life right in front of your eyes. And if you want to see every mural you can even hop on a trolley Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a relaxing tour! If you have children, then you will be happy to see all the amazing and fun activities that will be taking place all day in Wilcox Park!
Ever since we moved to Westerly in 2001, we have thoroughly enjoyed the “small town” sense of community and I think that the Bricks and Murals project will really showcase the amazing history of our communities and that our collaborative support of each side of the river has and will continue to encourage growth for our local businesses and community.
